Ideally with racks that'll go out to hole 8 and with intermediates. What's out there?

Thanks

Spike.

Hi, number 1011 below is probably too good as it'll get a beating as my first 700; but judging by what was available late last year 3k to 4k would get me started. The 8 hole requirement might make that difficult possibly?

Cheers

I've been thinking about selling mine (882) for a while now, especially as I've only used it once in the last two or so years.  It would be in your price range, and has intermediate bars but I can't remember if I got the rack extensions to take them to hole 8; I stuck at hole 6.

regards
Jon

Hi Spike,
I might be interested in selling mine if I decide to trade up to a newer 700. I've got No.811, I bought the boat as my first 700 from RS just over 2 yrs ago. They provided an excellent service as it required some warranty work on the mast foot and there was a little flexing in the bow area. The boat yard at beer, who are the builders did the work so its as good as a new boat. I also snapped the mast last year so it benefits from a 1yr old mast. I've changed the blocks to Harken and it has all the usual pimps. Unfortunately without changing the inner racks you can only sail on hole 7 which all the control lines are setup for. The main is 18mths old and has a couple of repairs from when I snapped the mast but is still a very good sail. Bottom and top covers are in good condition. I'd want 4K for it but would sell it with the road base.

Hi Jon,

What's the state of sails etc and are there spares for learning with, instead of trashing the best ones? Where are you and the boat?

Thanks, Spike.

Spike, I'm based in Falmouth, Cornwall. I'm still sailing the boat so it's at the local club.

Hi - I was planning on putting my RS700 number 835 for sale in the spring. Boat is all in good condition and well maintained and comes with two mains (1x well used but ok for training or club use and 1x in very good condition - only done a few events) and 2x spinnakers (1x in good condition - no holes in it - and one still in it's wrapping totally new). Also has intermediate bars and full set of weights (on the long weight bar). Carbon tiller and various other racing tweaks and new bits bought last year (haven't done the full inventory yet) - so all ready to race at any level. Also comes with roadbase again in very good condition. It is located near Reading, Berkshire. Price-wise looking around £3,800. If you're interested I can send you some more details etc.

Folks,

Thanks you to everyone who replied here: I had promised myself that I wouldn't rush in and buy the first boat I saw, and would properly consider all of the options. So, I rushed in and bought the first boat I saw, of course; no. 808. The upside of such an approach though is that I have had my first sail already. Fortunately I have been wanting a challenge so I now know that I have one of those ahead of me. But, also fortunately, I loved it.

I hope everyone finds a good new home for their boat, or if not, gets some good use out of it.

Cheers, Spike.

Spike, that's awesome - congratulations! Welcome to the club! I want to try to get some training sorted out over the season, and we're going to have a good circuit going this year, so I'll hopefully see you on the water.

Dear all,

Does anyone have any intermediate bars that they've grown out of, that they'd like to sell? (or lend for a month until a pair that I have an option on become available in April.

I'm Oxford based and travelling the Oxford to Southampton corridor regularly.

Thanks

Spike.

Spike,
I've got a set of intermediate bars that haven't seen the light of day since I bought the boat! I'd be happy to sell you them or lend them to you for a few months. I'm based in Stokes Bay.
Regards,
Richard
