2015 RS700 UPDATE
Your 2015 calendar has been turned into a printer friendly pdf document stored on your website document library here.
The first RS700 event of 2015 will be the French Skiff Open 3-6 April 15. More details to follow.
The first RS700 UK event of 2015 will be your HISC Open 25-26 April 15. Stick the date in your diary. More details to follow. All event details will be displayed on your RS700 website under events.
Let's build on last year's successful usage of the Intend to Race Button found at the bottom of your event page. By clicking the button you are not entering the event but merely letting your friends know that you are game enough to race. This should encourage them to challenge you and enter themselves. Clubs monitor the page to see how entries are going and to help them plan for a better event.
If you are thinking of going to the fabulous YC Carnac for the Eurocup 23-26 May I strongly suggest you get on and book your ferry and accommodation now before prices rise and availability is limited. Find out more here. It might also be worth sorting your Euros now while sterling is strong. If you are taking your loved one I recommend donning your glad rags and treating yourselves to the tasting menu or the lobster journey menu at Le Ratelier in old Carnac (also on Trip Advisor etc in English).
I am busy working on your Nationals with your Chair and the team at Castle Cove SC for 20-23 Aug 15. Might be worth investigating accommodation now before the tourists take all available space. A good starting point is the Castle Cove SC website where they have already set up a lovely welcome for us. I would strongly recommend trying to find your digs somewhere within walking distance of the club because August tourist traffic is always a pain and car parking can be tight.
Your RS700 committee have spent the winter busy beavering away researching how to make the RS700 weight equalisation system really work for you all. I look forward to informing you all of any proposed changes and letting you the class association members decide with the Copyright Holder and the Licensed Builder how you will take the RS700 forward.
Probably my greatest RS700 achievement of 2014/2015 is being able to offer you the RS700 fleet a new plank and new scales! Hurray! Rich Kennedy has kindly agreed to be plank monitor. Expect to be weighed in at all class association events!
I'm really looking forward to working for you so you can all have the most fun possible together with your RS700s in 2015!
Cheers
Clare
