RS700 rule change

The vote on the proposed rule change has closed.   23 members voted, and the outcome of the vote is as follows -

1. I wish to allow GPS units to be carried whilst racing.   YES.    23 votes, 100% for.

2. If the class vote in favour of carrying GPS units whilst racing I would wish to allow the boats velocity to be displayed whilst racing.     NO.    23 votes.   52% against.  Not carried.

3. I wish to allow Video Cameras to be carried whilst racing.     YES.   23 votes, 96% for.

The RS700 Class Rule 1.3.6 will therefore be changed from:

Any compass, timing device or a combination of both may be fitted provided that it/they can only provide information relating to A) the boat's heading and B) current or elapsed time.

....by the addition of the following:

GPS equipment may be fitted provided A) no information is displayed during racing by ensuring the display is obscured and B) that information recorded is only used for training purposes.

AND

Video recording equipment may be fitted.

The RS700 class rules have been amended as above and are available under 'Documents' on the RS700 website, or from the RS Office.

Regards,
Heather
