RS200 National Championship

The RS200 National Championship 2007 is to be held at Tenby SC from 19th to 23rd August. I have just been down to visit the club and I have come away with a very optimistic feeling for yet another fantastic event. The club is an old hand at hosting National Championships and the enthusiasm which the club organizers had for our event was very reassuring. They are certainly on our wave length and the racing and socials which were discussed will certainly be first class. The town of Tenby is a very picturesque fishing port, which was surprisingly easy to get to. During the height of summer the town center (which encompasses the route to the sailing club) has very restricted vehicular access. The sailing club is able to get permission from the council for boats to be towed to the sailing club. Boats should then be immediately unloaded. The car and road trailer should then return out of the town center. The club has arranged for road trailers to be left in a school playfield. (Directions will be given to sailors on their arrival.) The restriction on vehicular access adds to the importance of booking your accommodation as early as possible, to ensure you can stay within walking distance of the sailing club. The local estate/letting agency; Frank B Masons has self-catering accommodation please see their website; www.frankmason.co.uk Alternatively the tourist information center has a variety of different accommodation available on www.visitpembrokeshire.com . The closest Caravan/campsite is called Kilnpark.
