Welcome to your RS700 and RS800 National Championship Website for 2015

This is going to be a fantastic RS700 and RS800 National Championship. Castle Cove Sailing Club is really excited about hosting your fleets and is determined you are going to have a wonderful visit.
 

 
General Overview:
 
Castle Cove SC is a small friendly club in Portland Harbour.  The club has its own beach, a comfortable club house and races in the same area as was used for the Olympics in 2012.  This is a world class venue!  Castle Cove is between Weymouth Old Harbour and Portland.  It is a fantastic area to visit.  Please click here for the Weymouth and Portland Visitor Information website and here for the Love Weymouth Tourist Information Site.

How to enter:
WEEKEND ENTRY NOW AVAILABLE! £70 for RS700 and £80 for RS800.  
 
The entry fee is for an RS700 is £109 and for an RS800 is only £129 if you enter and pay before 0001hrs Tues 14 July. After that date the entry fee rises by £30 to RS700 £139 and RS800 £159.

The youth entry fee for helms 19 years old or under at the start of the event is just £99 for an RS700 and just £119 for an RS800 if you enter and pay before 0001hrs Tues 14 July.  After that date the entry fee rises by £30 to RS700 youth £129 and RS800 youth £149.
 
Click on the entry form title in the website menu to your left.  Online entry closes at 0001hrs Tues 18 August after which time you will need to enter in person at registration.  Please note that you will need to pay in cash or by cheque at registration.

You need to be a full member of the RS Class Association in order to compete at your Nationals. So if you are not a member you will need to join asap in order to get your membership number.   Join by clicking on Joining the RS Association in the title to your left.   I would recommend printing out the standing order form, scanning it and sending it to our Membership Sec Joanne Boutle cos then you won't have to repeat the process next year.

Select the prize categories for which you are eligible:

RS700: Master - 1st helm 50 years old or over
RS700: Apprentice - 1st helm at their first RS700 Nats
RS700: Fidelis - 1st helm outside main prizes who has competed in at least 3 previous RS700 Nats

RS800: 1st Lady - 1st lady
RS800: 1st Master Helm - 1st helm 50 years old or over
RS800: 1st Master Crew - 1st crew 50 years old or over (does not need to sail with 1st Master Helm) 
 
Select your event evening meals. For more information click on the Shoreside Fun title in the menu to your left.  Remember you can buy more than one ticket for each meal.  You can buy more tickets at registration too.  It would be very helpful for the catering team if you could help me give them an idea of numbers by buying your meal tickets in advance.  Please let me know any specific dietary requirements at [email protected]

You can then pay by PayPal or bank transfer.
 
Remember to secure your £30 early discount you need to have entered and paid by 2359hrs Mon 13 July!

How the event is going to work:
 
Arrival:

Drive to CCSC where you will be welcomed by CCSC Beach Crew.  CCSC are very happy for you to arrive on Wed 19 Aug and go for a shake out sail.

Registration:
 
Wed 19 Aug in the CCSC Chart Room 1500-1700hrs
Thurs 20 Aug in the CCSC Chart Room 0900-1200hrs
Sat 22 Aug (for Weekend Entry) in the CCSC Chart Room 0900-1000hrs

Please note that you will be given two Volvo hull stickers to stick on your either side of your dinghy hull as close to the bow as possible.  The Volvo logo has changed very slightly so you will need to remove the 2014 stickers and put on new ones.  You will also be given two Harken boom stickers to stick on either side of your boom.  Harken is our event equipment sponsor and will generously supporting the event with lots of groovy kit including a free competitor goody bag which you will be given at registration.

Race Briefing:

Thurs 20 Aug: 1230hrs on the CCSC balcony (or inside the clubhouse if its is grotty weather)

Racing: Click on the racing title in the website menu to your left for all the details.

Thurs 20 Aug: 2 races back to back, first race start time 1400hrs

Fri 21 Aug: 3 races back to back, first race start time 1130hrs

Sat 22 Aug: 3 races back to back, first race start time 1130hrs

Sun 24 Aug: 2 races back to back, first race start time 1130hrs

Launching and recovery:

You will launch and recover your boat from the CCSC beach.

Catering and Socials:

The galley will be open daily from 0830hrs serving bacon butties, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks and so on.
Come ashore pasta with tea, coffee or squash available to buy as a 4 day package for £10.
Evening meals daily at 1930hrs. Buy your tickets with your online entry or at registration. Please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements at [email protected]
Bar open daily after racing or at 1700hrs.
Wed 19 Aug: CCSC Commodore's Reception and evening meal for £6.50
Thurs 20 Aug: Skittles Night and curry feast at The Wyke Smugglers
Fri 21 Aug: the famous CCSC BBQ for £10
Sat 22 Aug: Ceilidh with "Swing your Partner" 4 piece band and evening meal for £10 at CCSC
Sun 23 Aug: CCSC Prize giving after racing

Post sailing yoga will be available in the Clubhouse with yoga teacher Becky Tattersall.

Refund policy:
If you cancel your entry before the early entry deadline we will refund all fees, minus a £15 admin fee. If you cancel after the early entry deadline, but before online entry closes our standard policy is to return 50% of fees. Where an event entry limit has been reached a refund will only be issued if another boat from the waiting list takes your place. If you cancel after entry closes we will not usually issue a refund.
Please note that where entry is paid directly to the club and for club hosted events a different policy may apply - please contact the club for details.
